| This is a complete playthrough of Embodiment of Scarlet Devil. It was meant to be shown off to a member of a danish game-site. Stage 1 and 2 went perfect and all the way to Stage 5 went without dying. Stage 5 was bullshit land though but thats how it usually is. I'm pretty happy about Stage 6 though... finished with 2 lives and i'm pretty positive 1 bomb too. Though i'm not completely sure. | Nearly perfect Youmu battle. All spell cards captured, one death in her opener. Ignoring the stage (this was a random play done on a whim), this was a godly run. This was my first time capturing Youmu's midboss card, Hell God Sword, and Eternal Truth. The reason I died to her opener is that I decided to take it without using the loophole for once (you can even see me get into position, then reconsider). If I knew this was going to otherwise be a perfect battle, I wouldn't have done this... *sniff* |

| Spell Card 167 "Divine Treasure - Life Spring Infinity." This took over 100 tries; apparently, at least from what I've seen in other replays, you're meant to dodge this from between Kaguya and her familiar. I had no idea at the time, and put myself through the hell you see here. Oh, well; it was actually sort of fun, to be honest. In case you don't feel like downloading the replay to figure out what I'm talking about, I dodged from underneath the familiar, and on occasion, from the sides. |

| Missed a border opportunity by finishing Charming Siege From All Sides too soon, but I'm still happy with this run. I swear, the bullets near the end of Kokkuri-san's Contract are a lot more hellish than BoHaY. At this point I imagine the potential score would have been around 1.163 billion if Descent of Izuna Gongen played out correctly and two borders would have finished up along with the opportunity one mentioned earlier. But no 'what-ifs' when Reimu's deathbomb timer saved me from a major disappointment. -------------------- Watching it again there are more close calls than I'd like to count on. Besides the mistimed border on Fox-Tanuki Youkai Laser the materializing lasers are much more forgiving than Yukari's counterpart where they can pretty much hit you before expanding fully. I was wrong to hesitate on activating the border for Charming Siege, but it isn't exactly a 100% capture rate for me either. Many stupid deaths, crappy scoring (and my high score is a result of the continuefest Lunatic run I had this morning). I was grinding the stage for an hour or two, was getting lazy, and really didn't care for much other than VoWG at the point I finally captured it (although I was still aiming for Source of Rains, which is why I refused to bomb it). On her survival card my eyes sorta wandered off trying to figure out where the other blue shots would be and I truly did not see the SW headed for me until the last moment. Hmm, probably had the safe spot for her last spell but for some reason I took the other lane within the small bullets instead of the one I was originally following, sending her across the screen. |

| In a rare chance to play on the school computers, I took the time to do my first practice ever of stage 6 on hard with no slowdown. Despite some badness on Subterranean Sun, I was very pleased, especially with my Giga Flare capture. Sorry for the needless bombing at the end, but I wanted to make sure this was completed with no deaths. Oh yeah, this is a no deaths run. Sweet. |

| I'm finishing with more lives but the runs are getting worse! Some spazzy movement during Concerto Grosso. I don't have a good excuse for that. Careless on Fazioli Dark Performance. Fooled around with no focus during Deadly Dance. Didn't pay attention to Yuyuko's health during Repository of Hirokawa and ended it early. Whoops. Ah, and Resurrection Butterly. My evaluation was, "I'm left with too many bombs again. I won't be able to reach the POC and back if I'm not aggressive with the red waves so I'll just play it safe again and bomb through. Those fairies on stage four are more durable than I give them credit for. |
