Remilia solo clear, at Hal's request. Extra is a whole new ballgame when you don't use Border/Cheese Team. Highlight of the rep... most definitely capping the early cards with Remilia, did not expect that at all. Of course all the border team tricks on many of the cards (and normals!) I am used to fails and thus I die horribly on many parts.

No vertical challenge with MarisaA. This is an absolutely beautiful run, far exceeding even my usual performance without the NV handicap... until stage 6. Then things just go to hell. Yuyu-sama is hungry, etc. Still, all spellcards up to that point capped except for two makes for a good run.

Cleared with MarisaB. Run has tons and tons of MASTER SPARK LOVE, and given I managed to get halfway through Red Magic after having to cap Scarlet Shoot and the normal before it on a previous run, and managed to completely blow another run that made it to Remilia with the same life/bombs...yeah. Hate (9)'s opener SO MUCH.

Spellcard No. 212 "Phoenix Rebirth", Mokou's Last Word. This one is basically her Flying Phoenix spellcard on crack, with the same principles reemphasized - decoy the first two shots, sweep to the side of the screen for the third and make it across in time while dodging the shots. The blue, red and purple shots all have patterned arc waves that you can make out and move in tune with to make the weaving easier, though it requires being calm.

Spellcard No. 220 "Scarlet Destiny", Remilia's Last Word. This one is fairly simple - pick the safe spot inbetween all the shots and daggers, right in the center tightly wedged between the two daggers on every wave, and you're fine. Of course having the reflexes to do this is another story. You can also try to ride each wave as it comes by ducking into the shots and weaving but it gets harder and harder with the greater speed and higher chance of twitching into a dagger.

Mokou's Last Word. Spellcard #212, Phoenix Rebirth. 1/7 tries. This is one of those cards that is utterly murderous until you figure out what's going on and that you only really have to pay attention to very small parts of the screen. Still, I have to do stuff like this once in a while to show that I can still do danmaku. Non-Yukari characters will only need to survive another pass or so. Note that this is not Mokou's Last Spell, which is an endeavor for people named Laggy.

FLANSOCKS ARE MINE! This is ridiculously hard and is the culmination of many many failed attempts. The death fairy before Patch, all three Patch cards, and the wall of books can all kill you or force a bomb, and all of those except Royal Flare are heavily luck-based. Flan-chan can screw you on nearly every attack by insisting on moving to the wrong places. Flansock Trap is a guaranteed bomb (possible to cap, but whenever I try I ram a shot anyways). The second normal is the hardest and WILL screw you if Flan doesn't hover over you (thankfully she usually does). Lavatein is a freepass unless you're so tired from doing 652972 runs that you back into a shot... yeah that's my excuse, at least Patch compensated but if I hadn't done that I could have felt much safer. 4 Flans Wearing 8 Flansocks can be easy or hell, but at least the clones take bomb damage so you can actually get rid of that one. Kagome Kagome is usually easy but can screw you totally out of nowhere. Maze of Flansock is hellish however yo

Magic Team Extra clear. AKA the scrubbiest Extra clear to ever scrub scrubbyness, but a clear nonetheless. Caps are Flying Phoenix, Xu Fu, annnnnd I think that's more or less it - might have gotten Next History. Since many spellcards force you out from under the boss, Magic Team has to forgo the idea of trying to cap everything and relying on deathbombs, and instead learn when to use Master Spark and Malice Cannon to bruteforce through stuff. Fortunately, Master Spark and Malice Cannon are very, very good at bruteforcing. Werecow is an utter pain, I meant to use Master Spark on all three of her cards, but got hit instead on the second one. If you somehow have a bomb in stock at the Death Fairy, Master Spark it *immediately* to avoid a bomb kill, or don't focus and try for Magipulation. Notable differences on Mokou include: Firebirds takes a lot longer but fortunately isn't much harder. Fast focus speed makes Xu Fu iffy - you have to tap up JUST a bit to avoid the red line spawning on your hitbox, but

Spellcard No. 147 "Forbidden Arcanum - Hourai Elixir". Eirin's last spell and a survival card, this one just gets more and more hectic the higher up you put the difficulty. Initial part part is trivial, reds aren't that bad, and greens are murderous - I used the corner to get the most room I could to dodge between them, which you should always do. After that the last set of blues and whites are utterly insane, incredibly random and the gaps are tiny - I'd hate to think of doing this on non-Border Team members - and the veeeery end is heartstopping. Still a shiny fun card to do, though.

ReimuA, no focus. Yukari-sama sez: STOP CAPPING ALL MY SPELLCARDS BITCH. Solid run, nearly perfect on the stage execution so watch it if you're having trouble with it check this one out - I actually manage to perfect the shot patterns at the end without firing a single bomb, which is an absolute first. Low points include dying multiple times on one of Yukari's normals and screwing up badly on Straight and Curve, as well as a rather non-stellar performance on Humans and Youkai. High points including capping damn near everything that's sanely cappable, and almost Danmaku Bounded Field, which unfortunately required a twitch deathbomb in the middle of it - otherwise I would have nabbed the sucker. Given that this is freaking ReimuA and no focus, the fact that I cleared with 2/2 remaining in the stock is much cause for me to officially kick Phantasm down the stairs and consider it whipped. ^_^

ReimuB, no focus... more notably, a 4am run after a very sleep-deprived Laggy. This showcases just how bad your danmaku skills can be when you aren't paying attention - I'm godawful sloppy this run, doing stellar things like failing to cap Undulation Ray, deathbombing stage 2 randoms, dying on Chen, dying to Reincarnated Tibetan Dolls -twice-, dying to Revised Concerto Grosso -twice-, ramming stupid stupid deaths against Youmu... there's so much fail here that I don't know where to begin. Bring it down to the wire by starting at 2/1 against Yuyu and scrape a miraculous win involving lots of bombs and breaking the Laggy curse on Rezzy B (which was squared off at 0/1 starting). Yeah. Spellcard No. 215 "Fantasy Heaven". This is Reimu's Last Word. The spellcard description describes her as being totally invincible while she's doing it (which she is, of course) and that she only added a timer onto it for -fun-! What fun, indeed. So yeah, this thing is 99.9% memorization, the shot lines vary a bit depending on where Reimu moves but is pretty much always the same. The card is all about the last three seconds. That's the part which is kinda ARRRRRRRRGH unless you memorize it out - which I refused to. Instead, I finally capped this card by simply pausing inbetween every wave at the last portions and seeing where I could go safely (or reasonably safely) and that extra reaction time pretty much cinched it.

And so the Laggy set harkon forth upon his long and treacherous journey to tame and master the malicious spellcard known as Mokou's Last Spell. Long and hard was the travel, for the phoenix's circles of blue and red forgave none and gave little way to err, tolerating no foolishness. But such was the persistence of the Laggy that, even in the wee bit hours of the morn whereupon he had deprived himself of that state of unconsciousness, had his nerves decayed enough to take even defeats calmly and thus conquer over the immortal one's most heinous sorceries by will of apathy. Oh yeah I hate this spellcard. A mere 165 attempts to cap it was a huge relief in my books. x_x

Haxier than usual Super Fairy fun (although I usually take crazy risks on Super Fairy anyway - stuff that close to the beginning of a run I'll take stupid risks on). 2/3 on Patchy, pretty typical - Philosopher's Stone isn't worth the risk to try capping. Semi-dumb bomb on books, but a 4/1 start on Flandre isn't bad. Beautiful run on Flandre up to Maze of Love; Cranberry Trap cost me a bomb (typical) and Maze of Love was a heartbreaker. And so Laggy tries to run Lunatic again without the power of Cheesekuya. This one's MarisaA, which is probably the hardest char for me to run Lunatic with, simply because she lacks bombing stock and doesn't have Reimu's hitbox (which I abuse in great extent when I can). Thankfully Marisa does have two things going for her - the damage, and very importantly the fast cherry gain, which is basically a (fickle) bomb stock all in itself if you manipulate it right. I do it over and over in this run, and manage to snag some good early caps too, especially the Alice cards. A lot of stupid deaths on stage 4 and 5 randoms respectively sealed my fate when I was staring down Resurrection Butterfly at 1/0, and Laggy syndrome kicked in of course, killing me on the last red wave. I could have captured a few more things perhaps (Deva, DoE, RB, Prismrivers), but decided to play it safe. Stage 6 really demonstrates just how hard it is to damage Yuyuko with no focus, no (damaging) bombs and no homing shot. Mind you - I have NO IDEA what happened on Swallowtail Butterfly to cause the massive dot bursts which cost me an extra bomb or two. Never seen that happen before, ever.
