Probably the most difficult clear to me as of date, by far, unless I finally manage to get my head out of a rutch and stomp EoSD Lunatic. This features a toooon of fail on stage 6, where I enter Yuyu already on the cusp of death and then stupidly die many many times (opener! FAN!) and think the entire run is in doubt. Well, SakuyaB bomb stock for the frickin' win. Pulled this off in the wee hours of the morning at Alex's residence on Thanksgiving week. |

ReimuA, no focus. I did not START this as a no focus run. It just kinda happened and then Alex started watching over my shoulder around Stage 3. (This was at Hal's place when the two of us were hangin' out together) So I figured, what the hell, let's take it all the way and see what I can do, despite having only beaten EoSD Hard once and with Marisa to boot. Well. Stranger things have happened. Scarlet Gensokyo is epic (and actually somewhat SANE unlike the Lunatic version). |

Komachi's normal attack. It took quite some time to get this. The first portion requires very quick rotation and tricking the coin waves a bit, along with photos to remove some of them. Most screwups were on this. The second part is a high-scoring cakewalk, you only have to dodge the first set. Unfortunately, the third part is a total ballbreaker - completely random and nothing you can do but pray. I got insanely lucky here with the barrage being light in the center; usually I was forced to the bottom taking frantic defensive shots just to survive (not for long). |

Komachi's [Death Song "Ferriage in the Deep Fog"]. One of the funnest cards in the game, also the easiest thing in stage 10 by far. Not quite as easy as it looks here, it is stage 10 after all, but I'll let you figure out the specifics on your own. |

MarisaA. Yay for the first Extra clear in EoSD ever. This was the culmination of over 300-500+ runs (god knows, I stopped count a while back) of that stage, and it has finally paid off. Now I can do it without flinching - see the ReimuA replay of EoSD Extra that I threw up. >_> |

Aya teases an oni. Suika's [Qi of Oni "Deep Fog Labyrinth"]. This is not anywhere near as easy as it looks and there are a hundred things that can go wrong. Actually a lot still went wrong in this. I open the card by doing exactly what you are NOT supposed to do, mainly out of boredom, then suddenly start doing well, panic, panic more, panic even more and almost miss the last shot (which in that position would lead to certain death). Well, it may not be pretty, but HEY IT'S AN EXTRA CLEAR. |

Super Mokou Flamethrower Special. Actually named [Exalted Personage "Advice of St. Germain"]. This is a really fun card to play, but can be very frustrating; the main danger comes from getting smashed into the sides if the arcs of fire continuously push you in the wrong direction, which has a quite high chance of happening at some point or another since it's a 10-shotter. Unlike other luck-based cards, this one at least gives you time to react and try to do something about it. There is also of course the super happy fun fun skipping between lines, which can be very tight at times. |

Komachi's streaming card, [Old Rain "Rain in the Afterworld Journey"]. Upon initially playing this card you will be confused as to why simple slow-charge streaming never works. After a while you'll get the hang of dodging through the blues at the pace you need to go at. The first 3 photos can be taken any old place, the next two are still trivial (unless your luck on the blues runs out), but on the 5th shot you will need to get yourself into a position to take on the remaining two, which suddenly jump into ridiculously hard territory. The last shot on this one was honestly sheer luck, I gave up on watching myself while going for the picture and could have sworn I got hit several times over. |

The final stage. Suika Ibuki's [Million Pandemonic Carnival]. Reaction to finally, finally getting this can be summed up as "aaaaaAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!". Despite months of trying off and on and a total of 1058 pictures taken, the number of attempts where I have reached the last two shots is probably in the single digits. Amusingly enough, this is the card's EASIER incarnation - try beating it in IaMP Lunatic without taking a hit. Actually no, don't. |

Prolly the hardest card on stage 10 despite being only 6 shots. Sikieiki's [Judgment "Guilty or Not Guilty"], her signature giant laser plus evil bubbles. This one is exactly as hard as it looks. Figuring out the timing for the bubbles is rather difficult, I personally found that the speed you get when unfocused and holding down + left or right on the bottom is about right for me to dodge them. You need to take your shots in the big holes that open up in the pattern every once in a while... except that for the last photo, the bubble pattern completes, and there is no hole, so a suicidal run up is required. |

Eirin's normal attack. Like 3-1, 9-1 is extremely hard compared to the rest of the stage (with the possible exception of 9-6, if you're not me). It isn't hard at all to survive while hanging around the bottom taking defensive shots, but getting close enough to hit Eirin requires LOTS of luck for any shot past the first, let alone five of them, and surviving the long recharge after a boss photo is no picnic either. Thankfully it's one of the few attacks that doesn't change at all as you take more shots, it's impossible enough as is. This replay has a couple of fun close calls. And by fun, I mean "how the HECK did I live?" |

At Otter's request. OMG SECRET FINAL BOSS?! As the information society marches onwards, the liberal media may eventually have no choice but to turn on itself in an ourobotic feeding frenzy of reporting on reporting and taking snapshots of paparazzi. Zun clearly is a visionary in this regard, as is displayed here by his positioning of Aya vs herself, summoned by Shikieiki to form a final judgement on the media saturation that has enveloped even Gensokyo. Oh, yeah, it's also a danmaku fight. Rep speaks more or less for itself. Do what I do on the first section, not what Laggy does. The second section is the hardest and requires careful positioning, the technique shown here is the easiest. Third section is a cakewalk as long as you don't get cocky; you'll notice I fool around and miss a couple shots, but still survive. |

Yukari's ["Border of Form and Void"]. A fully patterned card, and a very very precise one at that. Impossible without getting the timing down on the 'Form' wave, and then the 'Void' wave is pure pain, as you can see. Fortunately, once you CAN do the Form pattern, the card is blissfully short. |

Shikieiki's [Judgement "Bar of the Ten Kings"]. Words cannot describe how frustrating this card is. Definitely the worst in the game for me. Over 2600 photos taken before a clear. The first four phases can be done in several ways, I use the fastest method for the first two and then try for score on 3 and 4 out of boredom. 5 is trivial and mainly useful to stall until Shiki gets into a position you like for the start of phase 6. 6 and 7 are pure pain. The patterns in this rep are actually pretty average, I've seen much worse and much better, and as you can see only INSANE hax cuts it on 'average' barrages. The last three phases are easy if you can keep your heart rate down, no small job considering that this is only the fifth time or so I've actually SEEN them (they will kill you if you screw up!). Old one was the wrong rep. Oops. |

Hard 1CC, Marisa A. High point of the run is PERFECTING Patchy other than one bomb on Sylphae Horn High. Those would be my first-ever caps on Agni Radiance and, more astonishingly, Lava Cromlech (on Hard). Other high point is bombing the heck out of everything past Patch, which is WHAT YOU SHOULD DO. Actually I would have bombed Patch too if I had any left, you can see spots where I unfocus to bomb and run up, then scream as I have no bombs. Low points include many, many stupid deaths prior to Patch, and one very stupid and very painful hit on Scarlet Gensokyo that put the 1cc into sudden doubt. Basically nothing is safe to cap on stages 5 and 6 except the things that I do here, Jack, and Sakuya's stage 6 normal; the latter two just cut me bad patterns on this run. Remi was very nice on her 'Scarlet Shoot' normal, allowing me to safely demonstrate the trick for it. HEY LAGGY MISDIRECTION IS NOT DIFFICULT CAP IT MORE. |
